    i'm going to be crazy!
Tested all what i can do:
flash with flas**t /all in dos AND use clearCMOS
used insydeflash in win with admin perms, /all and clearCMOS
And after every reboot load setup defaults from BIOS.

But after every damn restart ther's still slic 2.0!
isn't there any out with an pavilion dv7-1199eg who can say IT'S WORKING FOR ME???

i don't want to use such crap lo*der or somethin'

How did you flash from dos?

You need bootable disk, the flas**t, and the bios file..nothing more.

Which file are you using? DO you know it is the correct one??

I would like you to outline how you flash the file from dos. How you use the disk and what files are present on the disk.

If you rush this, you may bork the board..This will not be good!!:D

This file works, only need to find the combo for you.

Used a USB-Stick formated with HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool and a startup i founded somewhere with 3 files command.com etc etc
Bios i used the file that was shown in the platform.ini after extraction the orignal untouched hp, writed down the name and used gbage's/ or your posted.
put flas**t (think v1.2j or so???) and modded bios file onto stick too!

Booted from usb stick, there will be shown:

    Microsoft Windows Millennium
    bla bla
    C:\

after typing dir i see all files on usb-stick!
    then i type flas**t 30F4F2A0.FD /All
    wait...Flashing Complete! Reboot.
In BIOS load setup defaults, then start windows AND tada nothin

There arenĀ“t certs of Acer for Windows 7 at this time. It will not work until win7 is released and we can obtain the certs.

ACER 2.1 SLIC cannot activate anything. We cannot change SLIC vendor and expect function. ACER INSYDE cannot be updated to another OEM 2.1 SLIC
"ACER INSYDE cannot be updated to another OEM 2.1 SLIC" which is to say we cannot edit acer insyde bios file?

Which is to say.......We can add an ACER 2.1 SLIC to your acer bios, but you will not be able to activate anything. I suggest leave it as is and rearm the W7 if you are using that. Keep Vista activation potential with ACER 2.0 SLIC.

You will certainly be able to activate ACER W7 in the coming months. Be patient !

Just my opinion, but I dont see the confusion or what is hard to understand???
