That's the thing. The slic table consists of 3 major parts - header, public key and lets call it a marker. So header and marker have OEMIDs in them - but i can not find the header in your bios - it's either hidden or idk what else to think. Usually it's never been a problem and what you have suggested could have been done before as i could always find header OEMID - not this time though
I don't think the Manufacturer hide it. This is a OEM barebone laptop I don't suppose Quanta has SLIC Licensing with Microsoft. I think this is like many Desktop Mainboards that need SSV insertion.
Maybe you can reverse? Track down the actual SLIC bin and find the OEMID or you can ask the poster to produce a SLIC Toolkit report? So you know where are the location and which to replace?
I trust the RW report well enough. And if you read all this conversation about this particular bios mod you probably would notice that i actually said - "I can't find OEMID in header"... Maybe you can help us?
The moderators might do well to change the name of this thread since it implies that it is for BIOS mods, not simply a specific type of BIOS mods. It would cut down on the number of requests that aren't including SLIC mod requests.
I see.. well I was just trying to helpp.. btw I have another question outside SLIC modding but still it's bios mod can you help me like swapping the button mapping for ctrl and fn key? If not, can you point me to resources that I need to know about button mapping so I can do it myself? thx
