Hi potpotjeng, Thank you for your reply. I know how to set bios settings but if the user hit F12 key, he can choose boot drive and I don't want to. Settings don't allow to disable F12 boot menu so I have to modify BIOS... but don't know how! If anyone can help. Thank you.
Loxxx, YOU are Da MAN, once again. I thank you kind person. I will let you know how it works out... Thanks again... MW PS - Just to really be stupid, I am assuming I run the Asus.exe in Windows or no? Didn't ask for instructions before on this one and I should have. The reason I ask is I am not sure what to follow, an Insyde procedure or AMI or what.
Sorry to be a wuss Loxxx just want to make sure, it IS a BIOS update.... Just want to know what I should do. It's a command line executable, figured that out. Do I make a bootable flash drive and just copy the files over and boot to it to update the BIOS properly? I am assuming WinFlash is a no no as has been the case for years from what I know. Thanks again Loxxx, really appreciate the hand holding, hehehe MW EDIT: Well it's almost 4am where I am and I have to take the little lady to bed. Hope that when I awaken in the daylight I will have light shed on this. Just to be clear I do know what I am doing for real, but I don't want a $1700 brick and because this is an Aptio AMI BIOS that was hacked by requesting in an Insyde forum thread and all I have to go on is the Asus.exe filename, I just want to be sure I am doing the right thing. I THINK what I do is make a bootable flash drive (done) boot from it and install the Asus BIOS file that way, but unsure if I need to include flags or anything if that is the correct method to do it. Anyhoo, thanks to all the great people on this site who make Windows the price it should be, that which we pay for with our lappies and get the real Win7 experience from by modding. Thanks all and cya on the flipside! MW
Ok, thanks again Loxxx but now it says that the BIOS you modded for me is older than the currently installed BIOS and will not let me update. Suggestions? Thank you again. MW
Please help.... New laptop very sad, Master is using Macs instead of working on me..... Signed, Asus G73JW
Three Cheers for Loxxx!!! I just wanted everyone to know that there was a bit of a communication error in the language difference between the two of us, but Loxxx had EVERYTHING done right and things are 100% super mega awesome now. Sometimes it's easier than one makes it out to be but I had to be sure so I didn't have a $1700 paperweight. THANKS to Loxxx and the whole MyDigitalLife crew for this awesome place..... MW
