Hello guys, My gigabyte mobo didnt have a SLIC either and i could install 2.1 on it (using award tool). Why is this impossible for laptop mobo's ? i dont understand this. There must be a way to get it in.
What error message is the award tool giving you that you can't add a SLIC table to a laptop bios update?
What are you talking about ? I talked about my motherboard for the pc, that one didnt came with slic and i added it. I only wonder why this cant be done for my packard bell laptop that doesnt have slic either.
Hi Mishel, it's because this method has been discovered just recently, this is done by hand and we only learnt how to substitute slics. But if the bios file has no slic we don't know how to insert it.
You've got an intresing bios. I managed to find only public key module but I can't find either marker or any OEMID though. Sorry man it's no go for me here.
Still looking and researching when I get a moment. I have seen nothing on how to add modules or GUID to the bios. This is a difficult situation, and I believe it will not end well.
Wow, this is weird, but hey I'm glad you have found a work around. And thanks for sharing this with us - good to know. Yes, HP 2.1 is used. You are very welcome
