I know. Unfortunally your bios has a digital signature on it and modifying the wlan whitelist the windows flash tool doesn't work anymore. I don't know how bypass this check, surfing the forums there's many many users with the same problem and zero solutions .... Maybe flashing from DOS ....
Need to change Product ID on refurb HP dv6-6135dx Purchased a refurb HP dv6-6135dx from NewEgg. Have had troubles with it since day one. On the second repair by HP, they fixed two of the problems by replacing the system board. Unfortunately, the other two problems deal with HP Recovery Media, the F11 Recovery Partition and the two sets of recovery DVDs I made on the system - none of these will successfully restore on the laptop as HP changes the Product ID on refurb models by appending an 'R' to it. The Product ID for a non-refurb 6135dx is LW262UA, for a refurb unit it's LW262UAR. HP now wants to replace the laptop with another refurb one, but I don't trust them providing me with a similiar (or better) model. I know that the BIOS on the dv6 models cannot be unlocked, but is it possible to change the Product ID setting in the EEPROM to match a non-refurb unit using the HP DMI Tools utility? The BIOS version on it is F.21. Thanks, Chip
