Hello, i am at the dead end with decompressing and editing the BIOS on:

    Manufacturer: Acer
    Model : Aspire One D250 (KAV60)
    Bios Revision : 1.29
    Bios Type : Insyde H2O

    I broke my screen LTN101NT02) with the resolution 1024x600. I buy a new one LP101WH1-TLA with 1366x768.
The problem is, that the computer does not recognize the screen, so i had to compile the IEGD drivers to have the basic function. No brightness control (only 0% and 100% working) and the external monitor works sometimes.

I read a tons of materials about the Bioses and try to uncompress and edit the BIOS but with no luck.

I found that the brightness is working when i boot up with old screen and then reconnect the new one.

The old screen recognizes itself as SEC554e and the new one is LGD01eb or (LGD01EB).

There should be somewhere in the bios the whitelist of flat panel that should work with, but i did not find it.

The other thing i found out is that Acer did some modification to several BIOS updates about the flat panels, i.e.:

    MODEL NO. : KAV10 RELEASE DATE : 01/20/2009
    Major Version : V0.02
    BIOS:

    MODEL NO. : KAV60 RELEASE DATE : 02/03/2009
    Major Version : V0.03
    BIOS:
2). Fix Panel ID to match EC setting.
5). Fix LG panel brightness only 2 level.
    EC:
    Fixed
    Modified:
    2.Update Panel brightness table.
    0x01 AU B101AW03 V0
    0x02 LG LP101WSA-TLA1
    0x03 SEC LTN101NT02-A01
    0x04 CMO N101L6-L02
    0x05 SEC LTN101AT01-A01

    MODEL NO. : KAV60 RELEASE DATE : 02/26/2009
    Major Version : V0.05
    BIOS:
1). Add Gint15 funtion for panel 1280x720 resolution.

Can someone help me with removing whitelist or adding my panel to the BIOS.
    Thanks in advance!

    Try this:
full format the pendrive with filesystem FAT32
Put the original biosfile on it, rename it to R2060Q2.BIN

Disconnected the AC adapter from the notebook.
Remove the battery from the notebook.
Insert the USB thumb drive into one of the USB ports on the notebook.
Held down the 'Windows' Key and the 'B' key.
    Connect the AC adapter.
Press the 'Power' button on the notebook.
When the LEDs come on, let go of power button and the two keys held down earlier.
After about 10 seconds the notebook starts to read the USB thumb drive.
While searching for the file the notebook may beep once a second.
If the file was not found, the notebook will reset itself and try again.
If the file was found then it shouldnt take more than 30 seconds to load the file.
No beeping sounds are heard during the loading time.
When the file has loaded, the notebook starts flashing the bios file. This is indicated by beeps every 2 seconds.
    This takes about 30-60 seconds.
About 5 seconds after the beeping stops the notebook will automatically shut itself down.
    Switch on the notebook again.
