The easiest way is for you to enter your BIOS on the laptop... then you can tell what type of BIOS you've got
believe it or not it doesnt give you any description aprt from bios id number, im used to working with award and ami stuff on mainboards for desktops , i.e overclocking ,flashing etc , but this laptop bios doesnt indicate any form of wheter its award etc only options are basic i.e set boot up ,date . anyway if you ever find a way of editing the rom file embedded in the hp download let us know. really thanks for the attempt anyway.brian
Which tool do I use to flash my BIOS from DOS? The HP softpaqs only come with a windows utility, which has been known to brick mobos on occasion
Hopefully Yen or 911medic or others senior modders can help detecting your BIOS... Could you track back this Insyde thread (on Vista or 7 forums... i forgot where ) and read a little... the tools for dos it's "flas**t"... If you already flash and still got SLIC 2.0 then the flash didn't flashing the SLIC info... so you had to do it at DOS prompt using "/all" options... Just remember to make note of your sn, etc...
