Well regardless sony using wbflash, the bios itself can be successfully backed up by flas**t. But that's not the case for you here... Have you try to search the manufacturer site BIOS update for similar type of board? maybe they included the flash tools with it... just a though

Manufacturer folder years ago, board is made Inventec (that does boards for all sorts of OEMs), so not likely to find out anything.
Tried Insyde & they were less than helpfull (in fact rather unpleasant to deal with)

The BIOS chip is SST 39VF040 70-4C-NH (soldered to the mobo)

I think it could be Insyde MobilePRO™ BIOS

have you run cmd in elevated mode ? (run as administrator)

i think you better request a new bios mod with hp slic 2.1 it works like charm in my acer4930

or double check the cert is acer 2.1 you can't activate acer modded bios 2.1 slic with old acer cert.
