yes tried in dos,but let me confirm one thing, may be it helps you, my laptop was version F.33 previously ,but mod was in F.34 so i fist tried to ugrade the bios to F.34 during upgrade my bios bricked then no boot then i recovered my bios with F.34 with usb drive trick then everthing fine now i have F.34 but no mod is working in this bios thats all.......but laptop working fine....
Ok, let me ask you this. Why didn't you post the download link for the bios F33? Your link is for F34. Nevermind, I see it was just an update right?
I can't think of anything you can do man. So far the DOS way with /all switch has been working all the time. I checked the mod again and it's good. What happened when you tried this HPBI103.EXE read slp? Did it show you any info?
tried all of the three flas**t same ,change is that the third flas**t gave a warning do not remove power adapter , thats all . I have done another experiment i took one of my friends COMPAQ C770TU bios version F.08 ,then with slic dumpkit tool i observed it showed slic 2.0 everything was fine , no error message ,then i updated its bios with F.34 from compaq site ,now it shows slic data error same as my C791TU ,i did not flashed it with modded bios ,what may be the problem. Are those all C700 model non modable or any trick with bios.
Well, to be honest with you I do not trust this slic dumping tool and never rely on it. It seems to me that the new version of your bios F.34 probably has a different way the data stored in it. Also is your friends computer supposed to use Insyde F.34? And can you use F.08 (is it Insyde?). maybe we can mod F.08 for you.
yes my freinds computer is a insyde bios but now its F.34 no backup of F.08 ,another question you said not to rely on slicdumping tool ,then how to confirm that my bios is ready with slic 2.1 how others check the insyde bios which is modded successfully.
I know, this tool is OK but I personally prefer RW everything. Also you can use Everest + HWDirect and do the memory dump to see the slic. Like I said this is the first time Insyde bios on HP computer is giving us trouble - up until now simple InsydFlash from windows did the job. I'm confused with your situation also and I want to help but I don't know what else can be done. What operating system are you running right now? Vista or W7?
