    forget about it found out it was all win8 and the bios version i was using.

    Yes I have a V3-771g. Currently I would like to update the BIOS on it 1.12 to 2.12.

    When I try from version 1.12 to 2.12 I get an error message.

    "please update to the same type of bios (v.1.x)"

    I believe that the BIOS 2.12 version is only for Acer V3 771g with pre-installed Windows 8 and not for pre-installed Windows 7 or upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8
