You may need a repair install of XP..The OS seems very sensitive to table changes in bios. This is not uncommon; any errors or blue screen exceptions??

Repair install for the ACPI drivers get reinstalled, since you cannot reinstall yourself without access to windows..

Safest try now, as little data loss or corruption probably..

    Yeah...the medic is here :)

I think there is a short message but i pops out only for the half of a second an then it restarts.

What if I try to install Win 7 instead of XP again? Because it looks like the BIOS is flashed correctly.
I am at my girls house and no XP CD is around :)

I'm sorry to hear this man but i didn't even touch the bios file - it's original from your manufacturer website. I changed some parameters in *.ini file but I don't think it could cause a bad flash. Also later you flashed from DOS where no *ini is used.
I don't know if this will work but you can try to install W7 and see what happens.

Maybe medic is right and XP just has problems with Flashing in Windows Mode!?

What does medic think? Win7 Installation?

I installed Win 7 correctly. But when I start SLIC Dump Tool the same error as in my post above occurs. Even though I typed in the license key and the certificate (used the TOSHIBA TOSINV-cert because it was written in the SLIC DUmp Tool) but the expiring date is in one month. Maybe the BIOS provided by Toshiba isn't 2.1!?!

Furthermore I flashed the BIOS in DOS mode again.

    Thanks for all your help.

Use the RWEverything and dump a report. This will show us if the slic is mapped, and if the RSDT/XSDT strings are correct. Simply having a SLIC is not enough.

Slic is still not enabled. I know you already flashed form DOS but can you do it one more time with the switch /all?

    flas**t PS10190M.fd /all

    and see if this helps.

I already tried it with "/all". My girl bought the laptop without a preinstalled Windows...could this be the problem?

Most likely that's what it is. I know there are tools for HP to enable slic but i don't know any for Toshiba :(

Compaq Presario C767TU BIOS mod, SLIC 2.1 request

Moreover i tried the already discussed pack with no luck.

Please guide me if BIOS with no SLIC can be made to have SLIC table 2.1?
