hello, i was watching for this whitelist removal too and tried it(Lenovo n586) with this it works -> flas**t.exe BACKWL.ROM /all /s -skipsbp but it tell me that the version i want to update is 1.05 and 1.06 is installed, so it doesnt update it :/
Ok, so I received the Intel Centrino Advanced-N6205 today. I figured I had nothing to lose so I installed the card - fully expecting the laptop not to boot up, or an error message to pop up. Instead, the laptop booted without fault. I installed the driver for the card - and it worked! Quite a pleasant surprise. I wanted to share that bit of news for those who have an HP Pavilion g7-2251dx.
Sorry for the confusion on the version, that was my bad :/ I wouldn't downgrade it since there could be a slight difference in hardware. I believe I read that there was an updated version of the same laptop. I received a new board through RMA repair so I wonder why I'm still on 1.05.. If you didnt make the dump from flas**t in dos, create a usb stick to use the flas**t tool from the zip I just posted. Then post a formal request flas**t.exe dump.rom /g
