thank you very much!!! its works!!! ssory, i downloaded wrong archive, maybe i need go to sleep. Million thanks!!
Thanks for that Tito, however I've got a problem. I've followed the instructions and updated the MB to F3, but when I use AMITool for the SLIC mod I get Status: Not AMI BIOS. What have I done (or am I doing) wrong?
Sorry, the bios works, I tried it, but I would like to unlock the advanced features of my bios (acer v5 571) to activate the virtualization technology. Is now supported by hw, but the bios is locked and I can not activate it. Thank's in advance
Sorry for not replying to clarify sooner, but I've been reading all the info to ensure I don't miss anything. To clarify then, all I've successfully done up to now is used the Gigabyte "@BIOS" utility to update the BIS from F1 to F3. I can't work out what the best thing to do next is. Should I use the Phoenix Mod utilility or the @BIOS utililty to flash the BIOS with the h61mds23_SLIC.F3 file? How do I do either from DOS? Do I have to create a bootable USB drive aswell?
Phoenix Mod utility is used to mod the bios, not flash it. The modded bios can be flashed from Windows using @BIOS but it is recommended to flash from DOS.
OK, sorry for the slow progress on my part, but I hope I'm getting there! I've now flashed the BIOS through DOS and my SLIC loader v2.4.0 is showing SLIC 2.1, but the bootloader activation doesn't seem to work. After reboot, the system is still asking for activation. Do I need a SLIC loader with Gigabyte- specific SLIC and SLP info and if so could you supply a link? Do I now need to use the Phoenix BIOS Mod utility and if so, do I use the BIOS file you supplied me with (to enable SLIC 2.1 in the BIOS) as the original BIOS file?
Thank you so much Tito for all your help. This has been a bit above my pay grade but I needed to get it done quickly. I truly am not worthy
