Thanks... I've flashed it with the version you provided, and now there's black screen (internal) though there is picture on external monitor. I know there was version F.09 originally because I saw it prior to flashing BIOS. Anyway, now there's a blank screen problem :)

your laptop comes with switchable graphics..could it be a driver issue? hit F10 while booting to go into BIOS setup, switch the Switchable Graphics section from DYNAMIC to FIXED..if theres an option to.

There's no Switchable Graphics section unfortunately. I'm trying to install version F.09, but I need to find it first, and seems impossible.

OK. I've opened it with Andy's tool, copied *.sig and *.bin files to the USB_root/HP/Bios/current, renamed them to 01439.SIG and 01439.BIN like I did for those BIOSes that were successfully updated, and it doesn't work, it doesn't update...

    I'm clueless.

P.S. currently version F.47 is installed (Insyde BIOS) and only external monitor shows. I boot into UBUNTU and in display options internal monitor is shown as present, but no picture on it. sometimes just a hint of a picture on it (dimmed almost completely)

keep your monitor plugged in , install a windows OS , and flash your bios back to F.08 then you should have your screen back.. also seen you can run hiren's boot cd and put mini xp os and flash that way..
