My e 642 no longer boots up, or shows stripes on the screen. I have tryed to reset the bios with the cmos battery reset method. But nothing changes. What can I do?

Can it be that only the monitor is broken?

Yes I said it as in mine experiments I have found that Descriptors are unlocked when FW is built-in, but
when upgraded InsydeFlash lock it all ! So Recovery is not possible at all !
TommyBoy FW v. 2.06 Recovery OK or FPT 8.1.
Dassam FW v. 2.13 built-in Recovery OK, after flashing only FPT ver 9.5 with prr !
So I think now needs an Bios Backup then replacing modules modded repack and
prr (Svl7 THANKS !!!) + FPT Bios Region.
    All I kow is it.
    Regards

Thanks for the reply BDMasters, I think I understand some parts of your explanation (with my very limited technical knowledge!). I suppose, I am DOOMED! then...:weeping:

Anyway if there is anything at all that can be done, I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks fjfc, as well.

Thank you, will try that now! It seems that if I had of searched around for the older F.1C version I would have found it out. F.1D only updates the AHCI option ROM, but nothing else.
