Hello!. Is posible to change PCI deviceid on Acer Aspire 5741G Bios 1.23 = NEW70123 for Broadcom Ethernet BCM57780 [14e4:1692] to Device [14e4:16b4] Any guide/tool? thanks!
Hi friend, Acer has not Withelist on any Bios, so I would think You have an driver issue ! Let me know Regards
Hello BDMaster. Is a problem with OSX. I wanna avoid driver/kext patching. In my desktop, ASUS P5K-PRO, I edit/patch DeviceID on ROM for Marvell Yukon Gigabit card and work OK without kext patching and wanna do same with Acer Aspire BIOS. First extract, with UEFITool, Broadcom PXE orom and edit DeviceID there but Ethernet Device is still detected like [14e4:1692] and not desire [14e4:16b4]. Then I guest this value, deviceid, is on another place in ROM file. Thanks for your time.
Hi friend, this ID is present in two modules : PCI\VEN_14E4 PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1692 Broadcom® NetLink BCM57780 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe Drivers 14E41692 = E4149216 C95E6A28-FB95-49F2-AE01-F38166FD4524_50.ROM OemServicesDrive ; (0x19B0h) : E4149216 134A30A2-079E-46A3-8FC8-099079591AD8_1065.ROM RAW ; ( 0x0040h) : 50434952 E4149216 = PCIRä I don't know if patching these offsets is enough as many times the ID's value are asked to the Card directly ! Let me know Regards
