before i request a bios mod, i need some help with the BIOS that i need to send. in all the machines i've ever used, BIOS is a single file that then can be installed with a utility, or sometimes it's a single file inside an executable utility. the machine i'm now working on is an HP Envy 15t-k000, bios rev F34, insyde v 3.7. the update available on HP's site is an exe. i unpacked it and it contains the insydeflash.exe flashing app, an assortment of other files, plus 5 .bin files (0227AF34, 0227DF34, 02291F34, 02292F34, 02299F34), and 2 .ini files corresponding to 2 of the .bin files (2292.ini and 2299.ini). the HP flash utility exe also allows for extracting the current bios. the result of that are the same 5 .bin files (no surprise) and an .ini file corresponding to each one. so--which of these files should i submit? i assume it's the file with the 5 bin's and 5 ini's, but how does one BIOS turn into 5 bin and 5 ini files? thanks ken
