    I flashed with the Gateway BIOS and Slic Toolkit is showing errors.

    1. Digital Signature = Error

    2. Marker = Invalidated Shows as HP

    3. Cert = Dump OK ! (But SLIC OEM ID or Digital Signature Error !)

    I no longer get "The AA Number has not been Programmed on this system".

    Should I have run the "OA2Intel.exe erase" command in DOS before I forced the Gateway BIOS?

    Noop... the Gateway bios flash is ok. You can retry with the erase command & use HP/ASUS/Dell bats from pure DOS but I think it will not remove the GATEWAY string from RSDT :g:

    I am trying to get rid of all references in the BIOS that are NOT Gateway. I am trying to get it back to where we started.

    I ran the OA2Intel.exe erase in dos. Did a force BIOS update with the Gateway BIOS. Slic Toolkit shows a lot missing.

    1. Almost everything in the SLIC Diagnosis area is blank.
    2. Cert. Error and Dump error.

    How do I get these back to Gateway?

    1. Thats the normal Gateway system... don't be panic

    2. As originally there is no SLIC, so there is Dump error.

    3. As this isnt oem:slp activated Vista/7, so there is cert error.

    :)

    Then this is how it should look in Win XP? I thought originally is showed SLIC 2.0.

    I was fooling around with Slic Toolkit and inserted the Gateway bin file by using the little box that says "Open Ext File". I also inserted the Gateway Cert by opening the "Cert Ext Cert" .

    It looks like the screenshot below but if I exit and go back in it is gone. Is this normal?

    D945GTP SLic V2.1

    Hi,

    I've recently updated my D945GTP Intel board with the SLic v2.1 tables and thought I'd share the process I used to help others with the same board. This board is one the E.F.I.F.I.R.M.W.A.R.E ones.

    This system is a bunch of relatively older components: MB as above, Pentium D 840, 4Gb DDR2, Windows 7 X64. Many tools won't work with W7 X64 so DOS is the way to go.

    You'll need:

    * Latest bios for the motherboard
    * MS-DOS bootable floppy
    * OA2Intel_Asus
    * OpaTool v0.7
    * SLIC_ToolKit_v3.2
    * Set File Date v2.0

    (Sorry, due to my low post count I can't provide the links to these items.)

    1. Update the bios to the latest version: I used the ISO method, burning the bios ISO file to a CD and booting the PC from the CD.

    2. Extract the contents of OA2Intel_Asus to a folder: you only need oa2intel.exe, pubkey.bin, marker.bin & pksign.bin. Check that pubkey.bin, marker.bin & pksign.bin are not set as "read only".

    3. The files pubkey.bin, marker.bin & pksign.bin can't be too old - ie, if their creation dates are too old the process will fail with an error message saying they are out of date:- install and use Set File Date (or a program of your choice) to change the file creation dates on pubkey.bin, marker.bin & pksign.bin to the current date.

    4. Copy the modified pubkey.bin, marker.bin & pksign.bin to the MS-DOS bootable floppy as well as oa2intel.exe. Boot the computer using this disk.

    5. At the A:\ prompt type "oa2intel.exe update pubkey.bin marker.bin pksign.bin" without the quotes. You should shortly see a message indicating success.

    6. Reboot the PC, into Windows. You can use the SLIC ToolKit to verify the SLic tables have been inserted correctly. Then, run OpaTool - install the appropriate key, use the "ASUS-NEW" certificate and verify activation status.

    That's it, all done.

    All credit to the creators / suppliers of the tools used above. I just read a million forum posts and figured it out, but these people are ones to thank.

    Intel EFIs can't be modded due to the digital signature. You should again try oa2intel from pure dos. First change the date to 2005/2006, apply the marker, check with SLIC Toolkit, then revert the date to original.
