Ok, but I thought that I should stay with oem bios but if you say so I will. If I brick it is this the kind of bios that can be reloaded off a cd or usb?
I tried to update it with iflash and it kicked it out and I was frozen in the program. X2 I just used iflash so the program is ok. Back to the Daz.
Before you flash your BIOS, would you mind running a test for me? I just need you to open the command prompt and enter the following: Code: wmic bios get version /VALUE > ForDrew.txt Then, can you upload the file ForDrew.txt *exactly* as it is? It should be in the root of your User folder. Thanks, ~Drew
Can you instead send me the result of: Code: wmic bios get /ALL > ForDrew2.txt and actually attach the ForDrew2.txt file instead of uploading its contents? Thanks!

Anything else before I blow this bios?
It didn't take. When it was coming up it was searching it and looked like it wanted the floppy, nothing was on the screen. Then it just kept cycling each cycle about 3min. So on one of the power offs cycles I unplugged it put the jumper back and it went into windows like nothing happened. Checked the bios ver and it was the same. The only things I didn't unplug were the 3 sata, 1 dvd and a floppy drive Do you think that it may need to be on a floppy or cd I have booted from the usb. So I have no clue what to do next but to stick the daz back on it. I just cannot get away from this gateway
Got it! Successful Only error is "AA number has not been programed. Press enter to continue. Then into windows. I got rid of that ugly Gateway logo. Now maybe I can get this rig genuine! Thanks I ran the slic toolkit and I was all green. Ran the opatool and I'm all genuine!!! All green.
Thanks for all your help drew. Is there anything that I can do that will skip pass the error, The AA number has not been programed? I know the error is because it's not the correct bios for the board. If that's the way it's gotta be then I'll deal with it. I like the intel splash screen too much and not having to use the loader On a side note my Windows Experience went from 4.9 to 5.3. Lowest score was from the processor
