MTP USB Device and Apple Mobile Device Ethernet aren't needed.
Try to reinstall USB Controllers->Apple Mobile Device USB Driver (using C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers) and then stop/start the service

I uninstalled the Apple USB then reinstalled it and stopped/started the Mobile service, still no joy. I am just going to dual boot because I can't get Alice Madness Returns to run or Office 15 either so I'm stuck dual booting.

Not a big fan of Apple products, though I have an iPOD touch that I got with my cable deal. Has anyone tried their device with iFUN box? not sure if the device needs to be JB'd or not but I know iFUNbox worked for me no problems.

iFUN box requires Apple Mobile Device support to interface with the phone, and that component is what's causing the problems.

This just worked for me. I restarted the service about 5 times and my ipod showed up.

This kinda worked for me, but kept getting 'Sync Service can't start' (using iOS 5 Beta 2 and iTunes 10.5) - Really annoying and didn't want to get rid of 7989 - If you have iOS 5 use iCloud to sync your apps, and Spotify (if you're UK based!) to sync your iTunes library via Wifi! Quick and easy. Unless you're in the states.

the question is does it stay recoonized after unplugging and rebooting? do you have to do that every time?
