    Not working for me

    Hello,

I appreciate alll the great work here which enables us to try Windows 7.

For me it's not working (Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit).

I followed instructions until the 'e:\reset' part, which succeeds.

I see: 'Operation completed succesfully', after which I clicked restart. Windows still works, does not show 'Initial Grace period blablabla'. It does after a while start complaining about Not Genuine and asks me to resolve it online. I ignored it and chose 'Rearm manually'. Nothing happens, only a message 'Your computer will shutdown within one minute'. After that the computer restarts en boots into windows. Nothing special, but after a while the same message about 'Your windows is not genuine, click here to resolve online'.

After this I decided to follow the instructions in the top post (with the slmgr stuff), but this doesn't work either. I start command prompt with Run as Adminstrator, but it keeps saying: ''slmgr' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.'

    So now I am stuck.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks for any help.

UPDATE: I just found a file called 'slmgr.vbs.disabled'. I copied that one to 'slmgr.vbs' and now I am able to perform the manual slmgr steps. I just installed the default Product Key and 'slmgr /dli' shows me that I am in trial mode and have 30 days left. This probably means I am ok now.

I think like my previous post said did you install previous crack or such? This program doesn't disable slmgr /vbs. Normally you just follow directions and then snd up with 4 rearms and 30 days and then every 30 days it just restarts/rearms automatically until your outta rearms then you repeat step one...lol

    It's that simple ;)

    Hope it's working

just for clarification, after one installs this app. for the first time, what & when does one have to manually do something else?...i'm just confused about what exactly the "28 days" and "4 re-arms" means

(fyi, currently using BIOS mod just fine, just interested in this for future reference)

As in it rearms windows 4 times and then resets the rearm history back to 0 so that it can do it again and again....
BTW congrats and good work Timesurfer....
I'm not that intuned of what the manual stuff that needs to be done sounds like a great ? for timesufer to answer lol....

After install you have 4 rearms 30 days. At the end of each 28 days your computer will automatically restart/rearm to use another rearm. After 150 day approx you repeat whole process for another 150 trial...lol

So by "repeat whole process", you mean manually run the app. again, right?....what happens after 150 days, do you get an "Expired" message that can be immedaitely fixed by running app. again?

After the initial 30 days you'll get 4 automatic rearms/restarts then anytime towards the end of the 150 days just "repeat process" since you can no longer rearm. On the 31st day you will recieve notifiaction so best to "repeat process" before to avoid MS message

I might change to 30 instead of 28 I dunno but basically it takes like 5 clock minutes to do RE cmds and get back into windows...lol

OK, i think i got it....i really think you should put this in the first post and/or instructions - "This app. needs to be re-run manually every 150 days"

i think it's a great idea and will probably use it on one of my systems, but lots of people assume you run a hack/crack/patch/loader/etc. once, and you're done for good ;-)

    Well 30 days + 4 rearm (30 days each) = 150 days...lol

Like any thing here on MDL it's best to read and keep up on methods that interest you or that you use. If you had read a little more you'd understood better but

maybe I'll put your request on first page ok so no one has to ask that question again. It hadn't been asked before today

But generally speaking this is an "active" use windows 7 tool. It was meant for those who didn't want any boot problems with loaders or any system files altered. And this is very hard to detect by WAT since in "trial" you are always genuine:) and our OS install date is the same as the IR4 install date.

    Anyways later

my commments were not meant to criticize or insult your excellent work....i just thought some clarification would help others...like i said, many people "assume" a crack/patch/loader/workaround will work forever, and i thought it would be good to make it clear up front that this method would require future input

keeping it simple and clear is why you wanted a GUI in the first place, right? ;-)

Dude I didn't think you were saying whatever and yea if more clarification helps then thats what we'll do

Dude I put "Once every 150 days you must spend 5 minutes reinstalling IR4" in IR4 facts.

And maybe we can put some type of friendly nag say 2-3 days before need to re-install IR4

Thank you for helping improve IR4

Are you sure your Windows 7 is in D:? It may be in C: or E:. Do you have other OS installed too?

that would be awesome...so no one will be unexpectedly surprised to find their install "Expired" one day, if they happened to forget re-running IR4

Apparently MS will give nag to do same thing and the other developers on IR4 don't think it's a necessary item to include

    @BigCol

Did you try c:reset and e:reset also just in case...lol Pretty sure it won't hurt anything just give you failure message...lol
