I don't know what makes it not work, as intended, on my VM. Unfortunately the last time I did some coding was at the time of C64 and ZX Spectrum, so I won't be much of help now when it comes to coding... since then I moved more toward hardware. I can do testing, and make some suggestions but that's about it.

I always do. When I log on the first thing I do is to read the first page for updates.

    We're running outta idea's

I'm fine with the way it is 2.7 but I really like the simplicity of MD's latest idea both for user friendliness, just C:, but in the less directions too...lol

I might put the comments in my bat files also. I like this being a learning experience as well as a windows 7 tool

I might actually put the graphic and .ahk file so it's a complete package for people to learn from.

    It's 800 KB

Hmm... my quote in your post looks kinda... strange... lol.

Well, both versions (2.7 and 2.8) work fine. The 2.8, in my case, has a little glitch not executing the batch file unless the path is specified. I don't mind that since, at least for me it really doesn't matter if I have to type c:ir4 or d:ir4 or d:reset. It takes me the same amount of time.

Yea but it's the whole simpler thing for users that is cool plus less directions also make it easier to understand a simple as it is :p

True. And here's where my next question comes in. I wonder if there is a possibility to just type "ir4" or "reset" (without the drive letter) in the cmd to execute the reset command. Or better yet if there is a possibility of completely automating the entire process by using batch files.

After clicking "Install" in IR4 the system reboots, goes to RE, checks for the OS location and issues the "reset" command and then reboots. Is it possible to write batch files for all those functions?

That's what we want but there's difficulty in it.

The only way is to create a type of PE part to the .bat file that actually has all that as an interface to automatically do that. We've almost made the connection and think this step is part of maybe attaining that. You have to put the c:, d: part cause the console has to find the file depending on what local disk it's in. That's why it doesn't work when you type c: cause it's in d: for you

In mean time I have a small suggestion for GUI, timesurfer.

I think that instead of "Click here to start installation" maybe it would make more sense to have "Click here to perform an IR4 operation". Since when a user clicks on it he/she will see not only "Install" but also "Uninstall", "Check Rearms", "Check Task Status" etc. Again, just a thought.

Assign a drive letter to system reserved and run IR4 and do not reboot. Check whether IR4.bat is created in the System Reserved partition.

It's mearly a function of what fits and I like whats there. I got lucky with size. Actually it's 2 pixels smaller now

Maybe I should put "Click here to get your IR4 on"

Then it has to work, you'll have IR4.bat on both drives, there is no way it can fail.
