IR4 works on both timesurfer's and my real machine (both x86) without any problems.

Maybe it has got something to do with Acronis. I personally haven't used the software so I can not say what changes it makes to the system recovery options.

At the command prompt, "C:IR4" with quotes also works :)

Damn staright it's fool-proof... if someone can't follow the simple instructions and make it work then he/she shouldn't be operating a computer to start with... or should buy the damn license. You and MD spent quite some time making it as simple as possible.

    @ Super_User

Try out the latest RC. A few changes have been made to the GUI.

Count me in as a tester for IR4 3RC
I will install Ultimate 64 bit tonight/tomorrow (weekend) and use this. Will get back with my comments. Hope they are relevant (if enough testers have not already posted their comments). A person who is visiting this forum and active here will find no problem in spending a few minutes every now and then to keep win 7 forever without hacking it. Definitely a great solution. Sorry, I did not try it so far (lazy maybe but conservative definitely) but will do soon.

We are most curious about testers with (non-English) languages

as well as server R2 and enterprise

Works flawlessly. I can't test it on x64 right now but on x86 it works without any problems... I believe MD already tested it on x64?

I like what you did with the final message... compact, clean and informative. As far as I'm concerned it can go to final.

More than once did I put out a final and something came up so there's no hurry as to it will just be a name change, however it would be nice to be stickied if indeed we are done with development for IR4

Recently installed Enterprise with a key supplied by another great member so could be a while before I help you with it. I can understanf English and your instructions but is this understanding of mine correct:
    1. will work on desktop dos pc (format c:, system reserved, and do a clean install of OS)
    2. click install IR4, restart....type c:..., restart
    3. Now say I am successful at os install, and rearm, and now get 30 days.
    4. Can I do manual rearms even before 30 days (say day 25). That is when I remember it (between 25-29 days).

Yes you can and we've set it up so the task timer is reset when manually rearming as to keep you in sinc with 30 day trial

With windows 7 you get usually 3 rearms 30 days ot 120 days trial. With IR4 you get 4 rearms 30 days or 150 days trial. With SP1 you get 5 rearms 30 days or 180 days

If you wanted you could use PAYMYRENTS token restore tool to back up your key then use IR4 and report then restore your key. At your discretion of course

150 days is good enough. In that time, I do 3-4 clean installs anyway. So, final question:
    1. install Ultimate 64 bit
    2. use IR4, rearm manually between 25-30 days
    3. when time comes for a reinstall, repeat 2 again.

Definitely time for a trial and the (forthcoming) weekend seems to the best time.

Well I've been running the same windows 7 ultimate install for 9 months now no problems so it's intersting you re-install so frequently. You actually can let IR4 automatically rearm/restart for you if you want. That's what the rearm task is for. At 0 rearms 0 days you only need re-install IR4 which takes like 5 minutes average

I use PAYMYRENT anyway, but what I have done successfully with different win 7 versions is this:
    1. backup a system image (say enterprise) using win 7 inbuilt process.
    2. clean install a diff. version (say ultimate or professional) by formating c: and sys. res.
    3. backup this image.
    4. switch between diff. versions (takes 10-14 mins for the whole process from restarting with sys. repair disc to getting the restored image).
    5. IR4 will be very useful for me (a) for Ultimate and/or (b) if key for enterprise/pro stops working and I want to use ultimate.

Final point: I have a genuine enterprise, and this utility will make Ultimate also genuine for me (without using the Daz which has worked 100% of the time for me). Ultimate is much easier (no disabling of games, and no need to turn it on for enterprise).

I will do this over the weekend or next 3 days and report back:
    1. back up existing genuine enterprise.
    2. install ultimate and check IR4 3. Report. (Fri night/sat morn)
    3. back up ultimate.
    4. install enterprise again and check IR4 3. Report. (Sat/Sun)

I may do 4 before 2. Pls. note that the above are India times which is +4:30 hrs GMT (close to 12 Noon right now).
