Thanks for this great easy to use solution

Just one question, I don't leave my pc on all the time so if it's not on when the scheduled rearm task is due to run, will it run the next time I log on or do I have to manually run it?

If not, are you able to set this option in the task scheduler so it runs as soon as possible if the task's date is missed?

Do you mean you couldn't set this option programmatically or it just doesn't work very well? (a M$ bug)

If it's the latter then I guess there's no point in me manually setting this option on the task.

It just set the task to be queued immediately instead of 30 days later. We used to have people set that in directions and then we imported the task with that setting but it didn't work like we expected so I removed it. Also since there is no longer a restart necessary to rearm you can easily click manually rearm and it gives you another 30 days. We really thought this over and it's best to leave the rearm task set like it gets when you install IR4

IR4 3.1 is something you can actually play with meaning click manually rearm or re-install to see how it works

It's a harmless program so have fun with it ;)

Another question. I notice you said I will have to run the program again in 150 days. How come in properties, Windows Activation, it says: "29 days to activate. Activate Windows now".
I saw somewhere where you said to "... click manually rearm and your set for another 30 days". How do you do that?

I know you've probably covered this somewhere, but this post is 98 pages long~ LOL

Thats what it says for everyone when their in trial...lol

    Basically ;)

    1. Install
    2. 30 days later if your comp is on the rearm task will automatically run and give you another 30 days of trial
    3. If your computer was off when task was set to run just open IR4 3.1 and click manually rearm and it will give you msg that you have another 30 days
    4. When you have 0 rearms left and 0 days it's time to spend a couple minutes reinstalling IR4 3.1

That's it basically but just play with it since you can reinstall at any time

Yea there's a lot of skilled helpful people here...lol

Just open IR4 3.1 and click manually rearm and it will give you msg that you have another 30 days...lol

Click IR4 Status then see the rearms then click manually rearm and you'll see a change...lol

    Just try it now...lol

    @jack58

I just noticed I didn't quite answer your question completely. The reason I say to reinstall every 150 days is because each rearm is worth 30 days so the 30 initial days plus 4 rearms (30 days each) = 150 days. We think that SP1 you will get 5 rearms so 180 days total. This is based off of our testing of SP1 beta ;)

    Enjoy IR4

I just want to say THANKS! To all of you!! I just tried this tool in my VM and it worked like a charm!! I accidentally wiped my computer's recovery partition (trying to make a hackintosh) and eventually I will have to reinstall. Now I can safely do this when the time comes. I just have two questions:

-Is there a way set up a timer so if it does miss the rearm task I can know to rearm. Also if the 30 days turns up won't I not be able to get into Windows 7 to manually rearm?

    - Also after 150, is there a way for it to alert me? Also when you say reinstall, do you mean pull up the instructions, click yes, and then go into RE and type C:IR4 (Also my Windows 7 some how got onto D: and C:IR4 still worked)?

    :worthy: Thanks guys :hug2:

P.S. I will be watching this thread (I hope it can become a sticky)

MS will give you friendly msg to activate and you will be able to get into windows. We got it covered for you...lol

If your comp is on at the time that the rearm task runs it will auto rearm for you with no restart necessary ;)

MS will give you friendly msg to activate and since you will be out of rearms then you must do the couple minute reinstall deal...lol

    IR4 3.1 was programmed to use C:IR4 for local disk's D: and E:

And if it happens you that log on after the 150 days are up, you may see a black background that says you don't have a genuine copy of windows or just ask to activate... no worries, like timesurfer says, just run the IR4 3.1 program again and your good to go.

Yea this programs almost too simple which is why people have questions sometimes interestingly enough. I've tried to set it straight in first page what IR4 does but maybe I need to make it even simpler. IR4 is so simple even a caveman could do it...lol

    Enjoy IR4 Guys ;)

Since Chew7 made stickie and name changes are in the works I too was thinking a name change might be appropriate ...lol

With the coming release of SP1 based on SP1 beta testing, IR4 users will be enjoying an extra 30 days rearming with using this "untouched" solution for a total of 5 rearms plus the initial 30 days hence 180 days per install of this easy and safe tool which will be accordingly be renamed IR5

I will be considering any good change of name titles but will most likely be using a name such as:

InfiniteRearm5 - Truly the only "untouched" solution :p

    Hi timesurfer,
The title u suggested might not be so clear with what the program actually does.
something like this "IR5-Run Windows 7/2008 R2 Safely Forever" would be better IMHO.
    Just a suggestion though:)

Hmm... Ok so let me explain what IR4 does exactly and what "untouched" implies...lol

IR4-5 when after full install has been completed only has a task "ready" that runs for about 7 seconds whether done manually or automatic once every 30 days! Doing a task is much more untouched than patching, places file on your computer or needing RAM to do what the current windows solution requires ;)

With IR4-5 if the task were say deleted the user would have nothing on comp hence "completely clean" of any files or whatever's needed to gain full use and functionality of windows 7 which indeed IR4-5 is capable of and provides :p

Untouched = No unnaturally occurring files placed on computer for whatever reasons to accomplish it's solution goals or necessary actions/requirements for full complete use of windows 7 ;)

My position is that a task is a harmless and untouched way of providing optional and automatic rearming of w7 hence still untouched

Hey i just suggested it for the Title..lol
I have been using this trick since very early days.Even from your version 1.6 i guess onwards, so i know exactly what this program does.
Just for the new users, to make the title "eye catchy"...:)
To attract more users to this underrated yet awesome tool!!!

1.6 OMG that was even before the infamous 1.6.3 the "first working GUI build"

But still like your first post I hear your "kinda" suggestion but not sure what you actually suggest :p

I mean the title just has a certainty about it that describes it as an "untouched" solution whereas most solutions here are not concerned about using MB's of memory to work or patching system files or emulating whatnot and so I am simply using the title name to be an reflection of what IR4 actually is and does exactly

What do you have to say about that respectively speaking

InfiniteRearm5 - Truly the only "untouched" solution :p
