It is a blessing to have desired a rearm concept win 7 program and then to have co-created it with MD. What an awesome experience I will never forget

Thanks again for helping me start the IR4 project

No integrity violations found. Anything else I should try?

Care to try last known configuration or restore point?

I don't keep regular restore points...

I suppose I could create one, then go back to my most recent. I don't feel like risking making my file system fubar though.

"Install RTM"? Maybe that's my problem. I've always just tun Ir4, hit install, and let it do its business.

All solutions at MDL work best with the RTM

    Hello,

I just used the latest tool version, and noticed a few problems.

    I have a genuine copy of Win7 Basic on C:, and non-genuine Win7 Ultimate on F:,
I noticed when I run the tool from the F:\ Win7 that it install some files to C:\... and the instructions say to run cmd C:IR4.. this is confusing and assumes the user is trying to rearm the Win on drive C:.. Will you be fixing this in later versions? I noticed the files are hardcoded with "C:".. it took me a litte while to figure out what I was doing wrong, but notice that it was trying to rearm C:.. finally I realized that I had to run E:IR4 at cmd prompt (F: had become E:)

Another issue, I noticed after using the tool to reset trial that alot of applications (like photoshop, etc.) lose all it' settings and now I have to re-setup alot of apps! :(
Is this normal? Or maybe I done something wrong that caused this?

Many thanks for great tool :) Hope to figure out why problem #2 happened

IR4 isn't having any problems. We made it so you simply type C:IR4 no what what local disk your using and whether or not the temp .bat file gets placed in the local drive or the hidden partition. After reboot it is deleted completely. It is only needed in RE to reset rearms. It was actually less complicated than before with having to know what drive you have so we simplified it to just C:IR4. It's easy to over think IR4 but I don't recommend it. Actually the only advice I can really give for IR4 is to install at time comp will be on so the silent rearm task will run and you won't have to do it manually with the rearm button which takes about 10 seconds.

IR4 hasn't been reported to have messed up any app's and my photoshop, etc is fine

Hope that helps clear things up

Are you running acronis. What build are you running RC or Beta? Where did you get your win 7?

Type dxdiag in start search box then tell what exactl build at bottom of window

Looks right to me so I don't know. You could trying go into RE manually with F8 pressed MAD like at boot.

Then if you reset rearms in RE you'll have the task installed plus nags gone you'll just have to maybe use F8 instead of automatic. If you can't then it's a different problem.

Also tell me what solutions you used if any. Just give any pertinent info and that might help

    Ok later

Sorry it should say repair computer at top

Actually you should check in c:\ for a file called IR4.bat

It will be hidden so go into control panel and select folder options then select view then check show hidden folders

Once you get into RE follow instructions the same

I would click install again then F8 at boot then enter cmd and all should be ok

Actually IR4.bat might be in the hidden partition if you have one so just reboot and go from there

Seems that we have really two different operating systems.
These are the options i get pressing F8 on startup:

    Safe Mode
    Safe Mode with Networking
    Safe Mode with Command Prompt

    Enable Boot Logging
    Enable low-resolution video (640x480)
    Last Known Good Configuration (Advanced)
    Directory Services Restore Mode
    Debugging Mode
Disable automatic restart on system failure
    Disable Driver Signature Enforcement

    Start Windows Normally

Which one? Also, i think that the batch file is on a hidden partition because i don't see any .bat on my hard disk not even if i enable the visualization of system hidden files.

Run the following command in cmd prompt as Administrator and paste the output here

The only difference I see is Recovery Operation, it is 4 for you and for the rest of us it is 5. Maybe that is why the option is not shown in the Advanced boot menu.

Since you cannot access the RE using F8 key, you can always use the installation DVD to boot into PE.

Boot into the Installation DVD, press SHIFT + F10 then type C:IR4

If successful it will reboot, else try another drive letter.
