Just to be sure, step 3) of the instructions (type "C:IR4") is still correct even if you have the o.s. installed on a different drive letter?
I mean, the program will require this exact command regardless of the drive it was extracted to and of the drive the o.s. is installed on, right?

Yes we either put IR4.bat file it in local drive or hidden partition run it then it is deleted and only task is left. Always make sure to install IR4 when you know comp will have best chance to be on as to allow task to run and windows to rearm

So yes all drives work with C:IR4...lol

Ok, that's exactly what I wanted to know. :D

Well as far as I understand that's not a big issue. I mean, I've been running an expired copy of win 7 for months (even though I still have 2 rearms left), as I hardly see any major drawback: some annoying warnings and a black background after every startup, I definitely can live with that and with a missed rearm task, as long as it can be run manually after expiration. :)

It's not an big issue but me issuing that statement as I did in first post makes better sure that people not have to wonder why they went into notifications if the task is more guaranteed to run cause comp is on when they install at time they use comp most on average...lol

It might help if you tell me when you got the error

Hi. Just to report back have been using Win 7 for a month and running fine. Message on Windows activation is: 'You must activate today'. As this is the first time since installation do I need to do anything manually or take any other measures? Have scrolled through this thread and couldn't see question asked before - my apologies if I'm duplicating.

    Thanks

Open IR4 and click on Rearm.

This step is required only if you have missed your scheduled task.

Thanks MasterDisaster. Presumably, all I need to do is have the PC switched on in order for the scheduled task to execute?

    Thanks again

Yes, that is correct. You can modify the time of the task to your convenience. I have set it at 9:30 PM because I have my system ON at that time everyday.

Would it complicate matters if I were to manually rearm whilst I still retain the 'You must activate today' message? ie override the automated rearm?

No, it would not. Say you rearmed manually three days after the scheduled time, then the next rearm will be done after 27 days.

Thanks - I think that's what's worrying me - the fact that for some unknown reason it fails to rearm - probably me just being paranoid!

If it is failing to rearm, you could just install IR4 once again. You'll be back to 4 rearms in 5 minutes.
