Thanks for this. Just tried it with the batch file, steps 1 and 2. Geez, something wrong again. I get into recovery console fine, but there is no "repair your computer" selection, only safe modes and a bunch of others. I selected "safe mode with command prompt" but of course the batch file would not execute because the first line in that file was in use.

So where did my "Repair Your Computer" selection go??

Update - Used Boot DVD to get into RC and yay! 30 days restored! Actually it was only 1 day but 3 rearms left, so I rearmed it to see if it would go to 30 days and it did. Thanks for your assistance timesurfer! I will integrate the additions you mentioned above.

Yea the manual way works fine and does the same things. I just thought highly of the rearm concept and pursued a GUI for it. You can still use IR4 to uninstall and rearm and status just not install if IR4 ca't find your local drive

Let me know if you need help

I should mention I had to change to E: to run the bat file. I don't know if the IR4 install only uses C: or not. Could this be why it didn't work for me?

It is desinged to use just c: but is suppost to deal with any d:, e: etc... by using c:

Hi, I have a PC that isn't started frequently and did IR4 install on it.
I got the black nag screen and all because probably the time has expired. (Pc was off during the time the rearm task should run).

So I was wondering if it helps if I set the task to run DAILY instead of once a month. So every time the PC boots it will run.

    @Thunderhawk

    lol...Two things

    1. It's an interactive solution. That means if you go past the 30 day task you must simply click the rearm button
    2. Do not set rearm task to one day. You only get 4 rearms. IR4 is set up as good as it can be so use Daz loader or other solution if IR4 doesn't suit your needs

Acronis is not recommended with use of IR4 regarding boot functions. As far as IR4 rearming count the rearms as 30 days each plus first 30 days gives you how long you get with IR4

Still don't know what problem you are actually having? The only thing that ever goes rarely wrong with IR4 install is when someone runs the C:IR4 command in RE it doesn't find the local drive and thus the IR4.bat file doesn't reset rearms. One guy said once that he had problems with the boot aspects of acronis so I figured it interfered with locating and running the IR4.bat file. Seems it did install for you but not exactly sure what you are describing. Could you try again?

I see - actually I still have some 87 days left - so I am checking for options. I own a home premium licence but no enterpriise and if I could avoid the complete reinstall I would be more than happy. I saw that Acronis has messed, I use it so I thought I ask if its a general thing or is it just that I might have to look for IR in all of my drives if its not on c

IR4 uses C:IR4 even if you have D or E, etc... However IR4 resets the days left and keeps your OS in infiinite trial. Have you even tried to use IR4. It is harmless if it doesn't work which again is very rare

you are right - I haven't tried it yet, I was just checking my choices.

In the other thread you mentioned that it was only in one case that Acronis messed up - that's an important part of information :)-)) "Don't worry" ( I know you don't) in about 70 days I will be running IR4 or Hal :)-))

    Thanks for doing this

Please ignore the above request - I've resolved the issue! :) It appears to be the keyboard used - a cheap Ritmo slim which worked perfectly in the normal Windows 7 mode but did not seem to meet the "full" specs of the "US" class in the special login environment of the IR4 reboot. Changing the keyboard to a Logitek "ultraflat" solved the problem.

Now the rearm status shows a new 4 rearm count.

Thanks again to timesurfer and MasterDisaster for the great work.
