k dont shoot me, I mean I know its somewhat dead, but enjoying life down here in Linux and Win7 land i just sorta lost track of time, as the laptop i have came with 8.0 and i still got the recovery media if needed.

dont know how much of this is true anymore, as the community really has made grounds over the last year or so on modding and tweaking 8.1 and 10, but I was always under the impression that 8.0 was just a tad easier to mod and tweak being disable skydrive and other useless stuff that eat up all of my google and firefox resources

I know XP survived with a SP4 Bootleg "UN-OFFICIAL" Scene release by ripping appart Win7 and Vista updates and then making them compatable with XP, just curious if EIGHT POINT ZERO really that far out of the loop yet or loosing that many features per say, Virtual support, as everything virtual is what Windows 10 is making of the future.

What brought up this question? MICROSOFTS biggest MANUAL to date --- I mean Windows 10 has manual / guide how many pages thick?
then ya break it up for each version N, Enterprise, Education, Bla -- your stuck with hours of research and reading, personally I'm just waiting for the movie.

but if you want to GO BACK, UN-INSTALL 10 and get your 7 or EIGHT POINT ONE back (zero was missing) look how much reading -- yea thank you M$ , thanks for really pushing that that little bit of extra effort to insure customer satisfaction.

sickens me honestly, confuses me and sickens me at the same time. Microsoft used to be about "CHOICE", Customization and Choice, well the good news, if you decide to roll back to your 7 or EIGHT POINT ONE with Windows 10 (2016) you now only have TEN WHOPPING DAYS to do so, not the 30 days as before

who needs to make up their minds when Billy Boy Gates can do it for you? Trust them, Microsoft Knows Best

so whats the verdict on the EIGHT POINT ZERO? everybody pretty much abondanded it? grabbed the extra POINT ONE cause it was bigger?

Win8.0 is not a supported upgrade to Win10, so you can't upgrade directly from 8.0 to 10

also 8.0 felt like another "Vista" and MS cut off support for the "client" versions of Win8.0 on Jan. 12, 2016 and almost no new updates were made after that date

8.0 is not officially supported anymore, but I believe you can still install Server 2012 updates (not R2) on 8.0 x64.

Over one month and 700 views before any response ... that answers it for me.

I use Acronis and actively swap/update images for XP. 7, 8.1 and 10. Note my lack/loss of interest in 8.0.

Question is: What does Microsoft suggest to do if the update from Windows 8.0 to 8.1 is not possible? There are several computer models supporting Windows 8.0, but 8.1 refuses to install. What to do with those paid Windows 8.0 licenses which are useless now?

I've never seen a post telling users to not upgrade 8.0 to 8.1 for any reason. It's dead.

I love to keep my Windows 8.1 Enterprise EN x64.
Then I love to live along with the dead, then I am kind of... necrophiliac? :p

hmm I like Windows 8.1 except for gaming, but in another hand Windows 10 when good configured and tweaked is fine for all aplications IMO :g:
