Well, just so there is no misunderstanding at all: your values suck! I do not subscribe to greed. What else does risk and "rewarding risk" imply? How much did all the "risk taking" in "taking Americas" cost, for instance? In Human lives, for instance... I think you need to re-think... Three of the immigration greatest groups in Sweden are Yugoslavs, Iraqis and Iranians... And I should know, I am one of those and have lived in Sweden for 3 years... [Albeit with a UK passport...] In Germany the greatest group is the Turks, followed by the Yugos and Greeks etc. etc.... You have no clue what SME is, what its history is etc. Hence all the gibberish... There is no guarantee from the state that any of those corps will do well... That is solely down to them and their innovation, ingenuity etc. Not to mention hard, hard work, great organisation etc.
Metro is such crap I'd rather upgrade to Vista. Yes, that really would be an upgrade. Ain't that sad?
I don't see Windows 8 being suitable for the desktop environment. I do however, see it being potentially succesful in tablet pcs, or what I'd rather see personally, in a home theater setup - if they can add kinect functionality to it. I have a HTPC right now and use a palm sized wireless keyboard/mouse, but i'd rather treat it like I do my Xbox. Although, they still need to perfect it on the Xbox too. So many features missing even after the upgrade.. You can search for a video outside of netflix/hulu by voice, but once you're in the app, you can't?
Fumy how this poll is going... about half and half. The thing is, we represent mainly the people that get asked what to do next by our boss and friends. iPad or not?
doh voted yes by mistake, dont really like it. doesnt seem designed for desktop pc's but should work well on a tablet.
Windows 8 is O.K. but not much breakthrough over Windows 7 and no technical innovation at all to speak of other than touch screen. Navigation is no better than Windows 7 and for novice, it is worst. The Metro thing is really gimmick personally. Microsoft is now run by Steve Balmer sales background who cares more about profit and his own personal pay dirt of stock options than real technical innovation. My vote is I can have Windows 8 or not it does not bother me. FYI, Mac is poised to decimate Windows with new Mountain Lion that will transform all Mac desktop into iPhone-like and all the people that I know that have iPhone love their iPhone. Therefore, Windows smarten up or your are dead pretty soon.
It's not just you obviously because many have the same feelings about Windows 8, although I'm pretty sure that in the final version "RTM" just about every little problem will be addressed and fixed. I tried to air my feelings about this Op system awhile back and was attacked with the usual juvenile responces like name calling or accusing me of being a MAC user, this is typical of what I've seen all too often on this forum. I've been using Windows 7 since before build 7000 by the way. The moderation here apparently allows for anyone to shout insults to whom ever they want with zero repercussions. It's a shame really when a public forum does not allow for differences of opinions which, in the case of this forum, typically resorts to automatic name calling or insinuations of not being a Windows fan right from the get go.
Finally the voice of reason is heard. I think more people will like Win 8 when most of the bugs are worked out and Metro becomes "optional" to use. Thanks for your comments.
