Hello all, Is there an easy way to disable automatic updates, or at the very least, automatic restarts? I hate it, when suddenly in the morning, I find that my computer has restarted during the night without my bloody consent! It is like I wake up to find that during the night I was somehow (drug?) raped! All my open windows and apps are gone! I have no idea what I was working on the night before or anything else that I was in the middle of! Believe me, it is a horrible feeling... I am aware that that I can reschedule a restart once it asks me that my computer is due for one. However, I can only reschedule it for a maximum of five days in advance, instead of my choosing, like the year 3001 or 999,999 or never. So it is only a half measure to combat this horrible atrocity that I am force to endure constantly... Ideally I want to want to stop these "automatic" updates or at the very least restart the computer to complete these updates when it suits me instead of "it"! Any ideas?
In my Sig MDL QUICKS or Windows Update Mini tool, install and set to notification mode Directions on how to install are in QUICK LINKS Notification mode plays sound to notify you there are updates to download, run WUMT and you select which updates you wish to install, you can hide the ones you don't want.
Do you have Home or Pro Pro gives you control on Auto Restart in Windows Update. I have never used Home so I don't know what control overrides Home offers
