JustNicky, thanks for the tip. The solution was all the time in front of my nose. Succeeded with UltraIso. First important thing is that I had to format the drive with FAT32 otherwise NTFS won't work with this drive. Here are the steps I have made: 1. Start UltraISO (V9.3 or newer version) 2. Choose ‘File’->’Open’ from main menu and open ISO file of Windows 8, for example “D:\Programs\MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.8.ENTERPRISE.RTM.X64.VOLUME.ENGLISH.DVD-WZT\9200.16384.120725-1247_x64frev_Enterprise_VL_HRM_CENA_X64FREV_EN-US_DVD.iso” 3. Choose ‘Bootable’->’Write disk image’ from main menu 4. Insert the USB drive you intend to boot from 5. Choose proper “Write Method”,USB-HDD+ is recommended 6. Hit “Write” to get a bootable USB drive
Insert USB Stick Run diskpart.exe (through WinKey+R or cmd.exe) list disk (identify which one is your USB stick, for me it was 2) select disk 2 (be sure this number is changed to the number from list disk!!) clean create partition primary active format fs=fat32 quick assign exit Now check what drive your USB stick is in Computer. Use 7-zip or an archive tool to extract the ISO to the drive (F:\ for example) Works for Windows 7 and I used this method to install for Windows 8 as well.
I used "ISO to USB"(isotousb.com) under win7 x64 to burn the win8 ISO to 32g-usb-ssd and then installed ok.
No problem .. I feel your pain i ran into some problems the other day when my WD pack up and had to use XP but that's too old skool for me now don't get me wrong the 90s were great but we are on directx 11 also i had to use WinToFlash? but the thumb drive got corrupted .. Then needed to buy a new dvd driver plus dvdr and cdrs ... a lot of cursing that day as i'm sure you can imagine
You got the error because of the BIOS boot settings, not because of bad windows 7 usb dvd download tool. The proof is in your point nr. 5.
NO CHANCE.... Did you think the possibility that I don't know how to set the bios of my Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5 to boot from USB Disk? Wrong opinion do you have sorry... look that: NTFS is not the proper option for usb bootable disks. And I don't understand why people needing do all things with the hard way, using useless tools, when you can your job, in just.... 5 minutes.... with that method which are following below (total 100% guaranteed working method): I really I don't understand why...
