ODY123 i rather think they do not care about the wishes of their clients, but need now to change 8 after the massive protests and that takes now something. haha
massive protests? I think you are talking to the wrong ear. Check the following from Steve Sinofsky: We've seen some small amount of visceral feedback focused on "choice" or "disable"—a natural reaction to change, but perhaps not the best way to have a dialog leading to a new product.
I don't know what these GUI guys' problem is. A GUI needs to be tailored to the input mechanism. For a tablet/pad, it's your fat clumsy finger. For a traditional desktop PC, it's mouse/keyboard. A mouse has a very small dot that's at the tip of the arrow (mouse pointer), big difference from a finger tip. I also don't like to zig-zag all over my screen with the mouse, while that's fine with a touch-interface. There is just no "one size fits all".
If Microsoft goes with this mess they call Metro, and stick with it beyond Windows 8. I have a feeling that they will lose millions of customers. I find it hard to believe that they just won't listen to their customers. Oh well Bill, money isn't everything right. Time to, "and I can't believe I'm even thinking this", buy a Mac!!!!
You miss the bigger picture. The entire idea behind Win8 is to make it seamless from your PC to your laptop to your tablet and, then, to your Smart Phone (should you have anything more than a PC). In the meantime, I'm sure Win7 will work just fine for you.
Developing a new OS, especially windows, is a multi-million project, MS would make thorough researches (the research itself could have already costed millions) before they decide the way to go.
Three experts have always four different opinions haha Then m$ have their money again thrown out the window, haha This Metro UI is ugly and useless for Desktop PC's!
