I was able to upgrade my Win 7 install - had one issue with Perfect Disk Pro - then all went well - it is the WDP .
the work around for that is to turn off automatic detect setting in LAN in your internet options. Then it worked like a charm
Actually, they just released on Connect a new way of installing Windows from the web. And its Connect of course since its a test, and everything Microsoft want to test with people comes on Connect.
It says you wiill be downloading the Windows Developer Preview therefore, it's 8102 as confirmed on another forum.
LOL, that 6 million dollar question again. canouna jumps to bid USD600 on a piece of plastic, as long as it is collector's item....pure obsession.
As you said, it was confirmed on anther forum this is the same WDP, just a new install technique. As of now I have updated a Windows 7 drive to WDP and also done a fresh install on a clean drive from the WDP created USB. Both installs went very well considering, Perfect Disk Pro 11 caused some issues on the update, as did UltraMon and MSE upon reboot. MSE and UltraMon are not needed in WDP, I uninstalled them, along with PD 11. I haven't installed any software to the clean install drive, but I know what works and what doesn't. Right now I have: C:\ Win 7 Pro - OCZ Vertex 3 120GB D:\ Win 7 Pro - OCZ Vertex 3 120GB E:\ Win 8 - updated Win 7 version - OCZ Vertex 2 40GB F:\ Win 8 - clean install from USB - OCZ Vertex 2 40GB I did have a few booting issues until I got all set up correctly using EasyBCD - now all is well I think I need a few more drives..................
Nobody has bothered to upload the " WindowsDeveloperPreviewOnlineSetup.exe". Yet people complain and beg for leaks and they can't be bothered to give us a web install version of WDP? Pretty sad, after all the work other people go into leaking future or previous builds, nobody wants to share an online installer? And they expect new builds to be shared with them? Go away.
AFAIK there is no way to get the file w/o having a Windows Live ID and an invite, it has been attempted. ETA - I just installed and then updated a clean version of WDP from USB - before updates it said Build 8102.winmain.win8m3.110830-1739, after updates it is Build 8102.winmain.win8m3.110912-1733.
