It doesn't really enhance their minds though, it makes them think it does, but from a sober perspective they are away with the fairies

Is that known as a Hard Reboot or a Backdoor Trojan? :D

Oh. So you have been inside their minds to have been able to make that determination. Interesting.

Don't need to be inside anyone's mind to see they are high / away with it

What you are saying is the same as people who think they are better at X when they are drunk, they think they are, but when you are a sober person standing next to the idiot who thinks he can jump off a 20ft wall, you can quite easily tell what is going on in their minds is not "Enhanced" in a positive way

And also in a way yes I have been inside their minds, I took a lot of illicit substances for quite a substantial part of my youth, so I know exactly what happens when you get high, and it is not what you think is happening at the time

If any drug was going to enhance your mind, it would be a stimulant, speed / coke etc, I tried driving high on speed and almost killed myself and everyone in the car because "pretty lights" were far too interesting, more interesting than the roundabout and other vehicles on the road

Drugs do NOT enhance your mind in any positive way

EDIT -Anyway, I know what does enhance your mind, sleep, and I'm off to get some

"Getting high" has subtle differences for everyone who gets high. Some turn violent, some become introverted, some become extroverted, yet others just want to sleep.

When I was a kid the "in things" were alcohol and weed. There was also a pool tournament which was held every week which either myself or my buddy would walk away from with a free case of beer, our choosing of flavor. Over time I found out that the proper combination for me was 2 joints and 3 beers prior to and I would invariably walk away with the case. Any more than that and I was "sloppy", any less and I was too tense, so yes, those drugs in the proper combination enhanced my abilities in a positive way.
Of course the final tournament we played together, my buddy and I tied... It was not pretty.

During the same time frame I was working night shift as a lab tech and found that 2 hits of speed taken just before I went to bed (at 10:00 am) would cause me to get the equivalent of 8 hours sleep in 2 hours... But if I didn't fall into REM sleep before those hits hit I was effed for at least the next three days.
It is pretty bad when your dealer shuts you off.

Never had the hallucinogenic effects you describe except for one time at a party and the host passed out some "Black African" weed. Spent about 6 hours sitting on a bed staring at the speakers. No clue what it was laced with, but it was potent. :dunno:

Only tried LSD once, and we went to a movie immediately afterward. The premier opening in Niagara Falls, Canada of "Friday the 13th part 3 in 3D". It gave me the giggles at first but the high was ruined when the flying eyeballs and such began. Things were so different then.

As far as driving, I was the typical invincible kid taking chances at every opportunity. Several of those times I had to have a crazy guardian angel as a copilot because some of those stunts are unreplicatable.
For example going about 90 MPH, backwards, between a car which had come to a dead stop in my lane and another coming head on which decided to take the shoulder when he realized what was happening... meanwhile my GF was laughing hysterically, her brother saying that it is a good thing that I am such a good driver, and me saying "That sucked" simultaneously making GF laugh even harder.
Speedometer said 100 MPH when I realized the gap was closing way too fast, hit the brake about the same time as I looked at the speedometer only to be greeted with a loud BANG as the right front brake rotor broke throwing the car into a counterclockwise spin.

    I miss that Mustang. :(
(broken frame/unibody from trying to imitate the General Lee's stunts from "The Dukes of Hazzard" a few years later)

The joints and alcohol before pool didn't enhance your abilities at all, you already had the ability to win, they just stopped you being tense, drugs and alcohol don't teach you how to do something better than you can already do it lol

And speed before sleep = 8 hours sleep in 2 hours? Huh? Speed stops you sleeping, and even if you did fall asleep before it kicked in, it would wake you back up once it did, and even if it didn't, it wouldn't give you 8 hours sleep equivalent in 2 hours :D lol

Maybe the speed you took was powdered Nytol :D Definitely not amphetamine if you slept on it, I took that crap as often as I could for the best part of 5+ years, I stayed awake for weeks at a time and almost completely lost my sanity, you can not sleep on real speed :D

It enhanced my abilities by making me less tense and making me actually win which is something I could not do without it.

It definitely was an amphetamine. Did you not read the part about what happened when it hit before going into REM sleep ?

Whatever. You call me a liar when I am not, I have absolutely no use for you. :bye3: Onto the ignore list you go.

When I was a teenager, My friends and I used to drop acid and watch Monty Pythons Flying Circus.
Strangely enough, Monty Python made more sense on LSD than it did when we were sober.

    Gotta' love British humor. :D

    Yup...Sunshine with Speed ruled. ;)

And we didn't sleep. Not at all. We crashed. 12 to 14 hours later.

These days, I don't need drugs to have a good time. The most 'Speedy' thing I do is drink Colombian coffee. And sometimes, that's too much.

As far as reality being an illusion...I don't know. I don't claim to know. But I really enjoy taking a moment and reliving a wonderful memory.
Sometimes I laugh. Sometimes I cry.

Imagination can be a wonderful thing. But like every other drug, it's meant to be enjoyed in moderation.

In the EV thread alone you have been completely and utterly destroyed as a "bona fide" debater and yet...

Madre mia... No wonder you write all this mush when you brain is a mush, thanx to all this stuff... :D

Did I confess I never took anything other than alcohol? My, this needs reversing... :p

Ok kids could you keep the "thing measuring" for the sand box!
What I gather is that this discussion is being done by mostly drug addicts. In the words of Koochy, "the cops are on the way". :laie:
