I have a strange problem with my keyboard.

When I use the \ in windows/word, it works perfectly fine. When I want to use it in the cmd window (as admin or not) then (since this morning) the yen sign appears instead, a sign that is not available at all when I try to find it when using windows/word.
And the \ is not available at any key at all, in the cmd window....

The display language is set to english and can be changed to japanese and german. It displays japanese webpages correctly.
But the keyboard is only changable between english and german, not japanese
apploc is installed but the process is not running

I have not used the cmd window in a while, but I have used it and it did work correctly, so somehow a change must have happened

I attempted to use this C:\> sc query tor following the MS warning to check....

If anybody has an idea what is "wrong" I would be grateful

I know of some Asian fonts (like Gungsuh) displaying the Yen symbol instead of \.

    I am still checking...

"Open Word>Tools>Options>Compatibility(Tab) Uncheck convert backslash characters into yen sign."
The bad news is, that this IS unchecked.

I have not changed fonts, but some installed software might have?

On the other hand, even in Word (2003) it shows \ and not the Yen sign.

The cmd window is the only place, where it does it, and as result no command can be read...

Where can I change the font, if it is changed and to what?

    Code:
    mode con cp
    inside the cmd window?
