I have been trying to read up on "Practical BIOS Editing" and all the previous posts in this forum, but have found that most of the info is way over my head. I have several questions I'd like to ask about installing Blue Dragon's post of Win 7 Ultimate, but don't know if I should ask here or if there is a place for us not so technically savvy folks to get help. I'd like to get started on the right foot here. Thanks.

I know what you're saying mate, I was using loaders and wanted to go over to BIOS editing and no matter how comprehensive this forum appears to be, it took LOADS of reading to manage it. I couldn't find any thread which mentioned registering certificates, for example.

As above, ask away and we'll help :)

Firstly, everybody is a so called "Noob" at some point so forget all about that. Some advice.......... be willing to read and use the search function. Besides that, ask your questions and im sure you will have your replies. :)

I would like to point you in the direction of three very good stickies that i reccomend you read thoroughly:
    Windows 7 Repository
    Bios tutorial for beginners
New to Bios - read here

Ok, thanks for the encouragement! Thanks to all who posted. I would like to say that I have read all the links posted by alextheg, Ev1lM0nk3y & imanoob. They helped a lot but I'm still pretty lost! I'll start a new thread for questions titled "Slic management and OPATool usage".

I am fairly computer savvy, but the tools described here are beyond my capability...

Qn: If you are a noob, why would you want to mess with editing a BIOS by yourself?

If you have a computer that you want a modified BIOS for, go to this thread and search using your motherboard name

    http://forums.mydigitallife.net/thr...te-For-requests-use-Bios-Mod-Requests-section

If you do not see any, then go to this thread and ask using the specified format:

    http://forums.mydigitallife.net/forumdisplay.php?f=33

    http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/5766-How-to-properly-request-for-a-bios-mod

THis master thread tells you how to obtain & install windows 7 using a loader, modifies BIOS etc...
