Read what i said carefully. Your SLIC 2.1 has to MATCH the certificate or it will NOT activ@te. Example - HP SLIC 2.1 + HP Cert + Any OEM Leaked Key(has to be edition specific). Example 2 - HP Slic 2.1 + Dell Cert = FAIL
Okay that is clear to me now. I have Acer SLIC 2.1 but there is no Acer Cert for SLIC 2.1, only 2.0. Where I'm confused is the bioses avail for the Acer Aspire One (AOA150) all have the Acer SLIC 2.1 installed -- is it possible to insert another brand SLIC 2.1 in the bios?
Kota is correct you can still use the Vista Certs to get Win 7 activ@ted. @Kota did you check out the Wallpapers?
Well I'll be damned, I thought I tried that already but it didn't work. Maybe because I tried the "Manually install certificate and key" method, but the instructions I got weren't as clear as they are in that sticky. Maybe I used the wrong leaked key, who knows. Anyway I'll try again with OpaTool, right after my Win7 finishes doing a Repair Upgrade Install to remove any loaders...
@ esetoric Just because some of us don't keep up with the ever changing certificates does not mean we're trying to spread misinformation. So now you done confused the poor guy. Get him the correct cert that matches his SLIC2.1 BIN. We all know if the Cert does not match the SLIC it won't activ@te. @Wong Post your Original Bios link here i'll remod it for dell or hp.
Well there is big red lettering in that first post that says "ACER 2.1 SLIC cannot activate anything. We cannot change SLIC vendor and expect function. ACER INSYDE cannot be updated to another OEM 2.1 SLIC"
Sorry man you can try the certificate that esetoric posted and see if it will activ@te. Go back 1 page.
