Does anybody know a way to uninstall edge browser. I don't use it and want it gone. I can not seem to remove or disable package through powershell. In previous versions of windows you could remove internet explorer by turning the feature off but edge is forced to stay on system

    remove-appxpackage Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_20.10240.16384.0_neutral__8wekyb3d8bbwe
    remove-AppxProvisionedPackage Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_20.10240.16384.0_neutral__8wekyb3d8bbwe

    Are both not allowed.

Just unpin it from taskbar, and start menu. Out of sight, out of mind!

If you will uninstall edge you could not read PDF files (PDF Reader build-in app that was in Windows 8.1 removed in Windows 10).

Or do you mean delete folder because that does not seem a neat way to remove it?

Just curious but what makes you think removing edge wouldn't break the system?

    What package(s)?

    Edit:

This seems to work, however it still lists Edge in the Start menu...

Only if you have pdfs that can be read with Foxit. Some form pdfs can only be read by Acrobat. Same applies to protected content pdfs...

You can even open pdf's with most browsers so you dont even need a standalone program.

    This works, thanks for help!

Edge is gone but link is stuck in start menu so something is left over.

And when outputting an apps list like this: Get-AppxPackage >"C:\Users\Carphedon\Desktop\Apps_List.txt"

    "Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_20.10240.16384.0_neutral__8wekyb3d8bbwe" is still there

i notice when using ccleaner it says it needs to close edge browser,i've never even used it and didn't open it at all, after letting ccleaner close edge,if i try using ccleaner later, edge needs to be closed again,so it must run in the background all the time

Then, you need to remove offline prior installing the image
