I found there is a Server 2022 LTSC, where to find it? and what are the benefits you get when converting it to workstation?
Servers with year moniker (2016, 2019, 2022, 2025) are always LTSC. The other, intermediate releases are not, and Core-only (no GUI). So, if you have Server 2022, it is LTSC by design.
Server 2003 R2 is enough to meet your demands, and the enterprise version is more than enough for you. There is no advantage in using an operating system that is too new.
Thanks a lot, I do value members in this forum as I learned a lot from Is it considered OK to use an OS that is not supported but it is still working and you have drivers for your hardware on it? I mean from your point of view. may I ask, does end of life means be or have a vulnerability? or what exactly? OK. Will it see files on windows if it is a linux based OS? or I am not get it correctly, please correct me. How do you convert it? Is it a code you run like the code that convert LTSC to IoT LTSC? or it is something else? I goggled but did not understood the real differences, if you may tell that would be much appreciated. Is it written correctly? 2003? please may you tell me more about how to let it work? I am really appreciate your valuable time helping me.
EOL does not say anything about possible vulnerabilities. But, with a software as complex as Windows, vulnerabilities are guaranteed, even in supported versions. The difference is that they will no longer be fixed in EOL versions, they stay vulnerable. And a known vulnerability is double danger as it almost certainly will be exploited.
Yes, that's because it's the primary objective of a NAS distribution. Just a friendly suggestion after observing your threads: Kindly do some actual research on your own and get your hands dirty (e.g. spawn a VM and try things out), otherwise you will always be overwhelmed by the sheer number of suggestions. Also, try to pinpoint the true requirements first, and then carefully select the most appropriate solution that suit your needs, but not the other way around.
Much appreciated your observation my friend, indeed. OK, I will follow this advise from now on. I do sometimes feel a bit afraid to screw things and that may let clients get mad on me or the shop owner may fire me, and this is why I am a bit caution and ask first, But can not deny that your observations are correct. Exactly, and that makes me feel so stupid that I am that much ignorant, and sometimes I feel embarrassed that I will waste the valuable time of the members here by asking questions I do not know about it and it ended up being so easy for others, please you and other members accept my true apology if I misbehave or something a like I did that annoyed anyone. OK, will do so. OK. Sometimes I do not even know what is the starting point of the requirements, but keep trying, and that leads to put myself in a very embarrassed situation in the shop among other experienced members, so I just keep silent and do not reply when they make fun of my mistake and tell myself, just be calm and learn because if I get angry I will end with get fired and keep ignorant but I take it as a tax of learning to stand the verbal fun of my ignorant. This is the only place where I speak myself for true without any borders and feel comfort. Indeed that for all of you and all the knowledge you give for free.
