Senator Jeff Flake was the first to propose this bill, we ought to send him a message letting him know that he is truly a dirt bag for stepping on our privacy being responsible for over turning the FCC rule made in 2016 https://www.flake.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/contact-jeff He also accepted almost 28K from the communications businesses
Take a look here. http://www.theverge.com/2017/3/28/15080436/us-house-votes-to-let-isps-share-web-browsing-history Read the comments. They tell a lot. I've just started looking here. https://privacytoolsio.github.io/privacytools.io/
Kinda of an irrelevant point, seeing that is your ISP... which means that is the first point of access to the web regardless of any VPN's that you use.
I bet there will be some clause in there that ISP's can't sell members of congress data. Buncha clueless money grubbing bastards. I wish people could nominate all of them for a one way trip to Mars !
That's all obsolete craziness - look at this, thanx to Elon Musk: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/elon...oi1AjrA&fromEmail=fromEmail&ut=2fY7rE1L4i9TI1 Mamma mia!!!
I say we hang all of them from a rope at the Lincoln Memorial and let that be a warning to the new one's that they need to represent the people first over corporate america
The problem is, people love their cell phones and computers so much that they pretty much don't care who looks at what. The solution is to use less of that technology. But that's like saying "Just cut your network cable and don't use the internet". Have you ever seen internet withdrawal? It's as bad as drug withdrawal. Well I just got rid of my cell phone. I don't need it. I put an app on it that allows me to use the WiFi to make phone calls. Sure it had adverts, but who gives a crap. It's free. Does that make me more secure? Who gives a rats' arse. I'm saving $75 USD / Month. It's been said a thousand times, but it seems that people just want to whine about it for the sake of being heard. If you don't like what a company is doing, then don't do business with them. Period. That applies to WalMart, the Cellular providers, and any other business whose practices offend you. The more money you give them, the more you enable them to do whatever they want.
That link has no relevance to what I was referring MJ. What I was referring to is ISP's selling data, or more specifically metadata. I spend a great deal of time at work in online databases which do contain HIPAA protected data, and have signed an agreement which allows me to do so, also limiting what I can say about my work. Now if the ISP at work starts selling even the links to get to these databases, and the security happens to be circumvented, there is a great potential for all that HIPAA data to be freed into the wild... NOT a good thing. BUT, it would be hilarious watching these congressional ID Ten T's scrambling trying to cover their derrieres should that happen, especially when you take into account what the first A in HIPAA stands for, and it was they themselves which passed the act... Or should I say acts ? Take a look here: https://www.hhs.gov/hipaa/for-professionals/privacy/index.html?language=es
@JFKI: Okaaaaaay. You said: And I said: So how does my link have nothing to do with My interpretation of the right to privacy under the constitution? It's discussed there.
Where does HIPAA data reside in the link you gave me ? Oh, It doesn't ? Therefore it is irrelevant. In the constitution it would be the 4th amendment, as in papers, ie: The first two letters of HIPAA. There is no disputing that. And you have made me say more than I should have... and will say no more about the matter.
@JFKI: Are you really that deluded that you think that they would try to sell HIPAA information to the cellular carriers?!? You're showing yourself to be a conspiracy nut more than a rational person.
If they automate their system how would they even know until it is too late ? Look at you, I had to basically hold your hand to explain what I was talking about. Do you really think the advertisers greedy to make a buck have thought it all out ? Really ? P.S. I have been called much worse, so sticks and stones lady.
So you're all up in arms about the big bad ISPs selling your web surfing habits to the highest bidder are you? Then write your congressman or join an advocacy group. Although that's pretty much like wetting your pants in a dark suit. It gives you a warm feeling, but nobody notices. Wake up and smell the toast burning. Private firms have been doing it for years. Oh, and you don't need to hold my hand. I already knew this was coming. Once Trump got into office, every single thing the Democrats have been fighting the government about was up for grabs. And that includes social services. Trump is a disgusting prick. Everybody knew this, yet they put him in anyway. So what did you all expect?!?
You do realize that the only hope at the moment is Trump's veto do you not ? P.S. It is not MY surfing habits I am worried about, in fact I welcome "big bad ISPs selling my web surfing habits to the highest bidder". If they did that perhaps someone would get a glimpse of what is really happening. What I am worried about is all the privileged information ( some aspects even I have not thought of yet ) being set free in the wild... Which includes your records as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAsV5-Hv-7U
@JFKI: I am a realist. Why would He veto it? He's in there because they're sure he -WON'T- veto it. Republicans are all about business. Granted some care, but, for the most part, they're about helping the rich stay that way. And forcing people to take care of themselves. That's reality. So am I going to allow myself to get all worked up over it? Hell no! I'm going to do what I always do. Survive as best I can. Help those around me as much as I can. That's why us Christians say "Let Go...Let GOD". Y'know...You make a lot of assumptions about me without even knowing me. You have no idea what I'm doing to elevate my life status. Or what I'm capable of. ASS-U-ME...
That's a sanitized version of it! Let's be real they don't give a !$#@%# about anyone who isn't rich and would prefer to kick the ordinary man to the curb. In their eyes the rich provide everything and everyone else is a 3rd class citizen looking for hand outs ! And a lot of those "3rd class citizens" voted them in there!
A few short years ago THIS was also only believed by "conspiracy nuts". I ask, where does that put your rationality ? Frankly I see it lowering with each post you make in this thread. I find that sad.
Apparently I am not the only one. http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2017/03/31/porn-sites-want-to-watch-worry-free.html http://nypost.com/2017/03/31/porn-sites-want-you-to-masturbate-worry-free/ Edit to add another http://www.breitbart.com/big-govern...-to-sign-repeal-of-obama-era-broadband-rules/
