ISO to USB Sticks

    so I thought also, but i was waiting for somebody else to have this opinion.
    sometimes, on some laptops, i have that kind of "image"/issue using the gParted iso.

    1. x86/x64 of what? i was using the iso from your link ... [ if you intend to say working o.s. , well it is w7sp1 x64]
    2. 1.2.0.1 of what? sorry...
    3. for grldr, menu.lst check your pm in 5min

    it is version 0.9.2011.0512, but i don't think that the version of BOOTICE is important!

    I followed all the way but got following message:

    booting 1 ATI2014P.ISO contig hd 0.0
    map(hd0,0) /ATI2014P.ISO (hd32)
    Error 22: no such partition
    press any key to continue

    What did I make wrong ?

    Hi,
    pay attention at the name of the iso: ATI2014P.ISO
    must have the same name on MENU.LST and be situated on the "/" root of the usb-stick
    Code:
    timeout 100
default 0

title 1 ATI2014P.ISO contig on hd0.0
map (hd0,0)/ATI2014P.ISO (hd32)
map --hook
chainloader (hd32)
boot
    Try this entry on MENU.LST too (append to your MENU.LST):
    Code:
    title 2 ATI2014P.ISO
find --set-root /ATI2014P.ISO
map /ATI2014P.ISO (hd32)
map --hook
root (hd32)
chainloader (hd32)
boot
    don't forget about defrag also ...

    Thanks cmos.
    Problem solved. Works well on my Notebook now. But I don´t understand, why it didn´t work on the normal way. It may be an issue with UEFI, because when it statrs by the other way, it starts the UEFI boot loader and than the problem starts. But with your help, I can access the recovery media...

    The error I got before, because I didn´t rename the ISO (my fault).:wallhead:

    My laptop is UEFI and with your tutorial it worked. But the only problem I couldn´t understand that a ISO given by Acronis has problems with UEFI boot loader.

    It starts like your image. But when I select 1 and Acronis starts the image is all distorted and looks like the the image below:

    For OSes, use Rufus :thumbsup:
    For others, simply extract and copy them into the disk! :)
