Have the original surface book however about 2 weeks ago windows shutdown to do its update thing. It sat at "windows is getting ready. Do not turn off your PC" for a few hours. I was able to reset the pc in the recovery options and in the OS disabled automatic updates thinking that it may have been an issue with that and I would wait it out. Well I waited, still same song and dance. Only this time it would not allow me reset the pc without wiping all my data. GRRRRR. Not worried about the data just want to see if anyone can assist me with the update issue. If i dont disable updates then everytime i reboot it will attempt to update and just sit there forever.
