Very nice work. Might become a very handy tool. Integrate drivers option would def. be another great feature.
Maybe I could track down the gimagex.com.dll and make this another gimagex clone. But what would be the fun in that.
@ Mr Jinje, you should state that this can only be run on windows 7 OS only either that or you would need to include DISM.
@ Mr Jinje, i don't think integrate certificate is working i can't see certificate in mount folder Windows\System32\OEM
Tested integrate certificate is working Well Done Question any way to add tooltips ? i selected discard invalid what does that do also is there any way to parse Wim info to choose wim number so it actually shows versions rather than image number.
Discard Invalid will clear a rare DISM error that can occur if explorer (or any program) has a locked process when you attempt to dis-mount. If you get an error that dis-mount failed, easiest fix is to. 1st) Delete the empty mount folder (dis-mount already failed, so is safe) 2nd) Run the Discard Invalid command.
Washes windows, dishes, laundry, makes coffee first thing in the morning but it won't do that one little thing that your girlfriend won't do either. Sorry. EDIT: Oops.probably shouldn't be a wise ass to a Super Moderator.
Question for the OP, can someone insert different certs into several instances of the same version of windows so you can have 5 or six manufactures on one dvd and the OS install menu would look something like this. Should be possible if you can mix X86 and X64 on one DVD. W7 Professional dell X64 W7 Professional HP X64 W7 etc, etc..
maybe u could change the commit command to do it via /commit like it does discard because it always hangs for me the way u currently have it
This tool is for all readers who have SLIC in BIOS and the manufacturer does not provide recovery DVD. Many companies make switch to HDD Recovery partition, no more DVD, what about HDD failure ? No longer. With this tool, any idiot can push a few buttons and create custom Windows 7 OEM DVD (assuming they have SLIC in BIOS + legit key + OEM Cert). Is tool for readers who want custom install DVD.
The commit command can take a while especially on laptops, mostly depending on your HDD speed. (even when you've made no changes). Prefer to use the Dis-Mount /discard command because sometimes I just want to open the WIM up and look inside, I don't always want to wait a full minute to dis-mount in this situation. Also when I am working on my WIM, I like to commit/save many times, and not be forced to dis-mount in between saves.
Mr Jinje Is it possible (should be) to install a cert and appropriate key into each separate index? The goal being is a single HP disk that will install any version on an OEM computer with an SLIC 2.1
Yes, mount each index separately (# combo box in bottom corner) then install the matching HP cert and key matching that version.
It is possible to add more than one certificate the OS will grab correct one to suit SLIC in bios but i wouldn't use more than say 5. not tested in windows 7 but it worked ok in vista so should be ok, you would need to copy other certs manually to Windows\System32\OEM in MOUNT folder.
