Are you sure it is SLIC 2.1 and not SLIC 2.0 - 2.0 is the version that only works with Vista/XP. Unless you bought your computer since Late August, it probably has SLIC 2.0 (unless you make BIOS mod)

Can you give me the link to the BIOS mod you used ?

digg ... you just need to read the "OS SUPPORT" section in the first post to understand.
Vista do not have "DISM.EXE" , so you need to find it looking for it around the WEB or installing M$ official WAIK.

Can someone please tell me how to inset my Promise SATAII150/SATA300 TX driver to my recovery disk so it will run as "TXT" for harddrive discovery at install?
I inserted the driver folder correctly using the DISM Tool, but it failed to run the driver at install and required me to "Load Driver" from floppy before it would detect my harddrive (This is not a BIOS Compatibility Mode issue). A "TXT Mode" insertion of this driver will fix me up...for example: When using nLite to customize my XP disk, I inserted the driver folder fine but I had to go back and insert the driver again as a "TXT"...nLite had that option but you had to go back a second time to do it....and it worked. Any advise how to do this would be appreciated. Thank You.

    Hello Mr. Jinje.
This is first time I use DISM Tool. To add drivers, can I use the RAR files. Please advise. Thank you.

i run dism myself under vista!!

you just have to copy the Dism-folder and the Dism.exe from the Windows 7 install.wim to vista.
Next you register the Dism dll-files.
