Interesting info, which means the Classic Shell users will need to go thru additional updates, and also run a small risk each time of clashes. I’m now glad that, despite my initial urge, I didn’t adopt it. And now that I’ve extensively adapted the native Start menu to my preferences, it’s not so bad.
Lots of programs that tinker with the OS need to be updated with each new version of the latter. Hardly some sort of big imposition, especially when Classic Shell's settings can be exported and imported. If the native Start Menu satisfies you then that's fine, but personally I don't like what they've done with it in 1607 and have been voicing my displeasure via the Feedback app ever since they introduced the change in Insider builds.
I can confirm that genuineticket.xml method works fine even after july29 for freshly installed win 10 machines, just now i got a laptop upgraded from genuine win8 to win10..
Any news on whether upgrading an activated Windows 7-8.1 system via install media will still activate?
