OK, so I activated all my systems, would be nice to have a backup, in case the server goes down and I need to reinstall (both of which will happen). I did this before last year with 8.0, but I'm stuck now... (1) On an activated system (taiwan server), I copied the full c:\windows\system32\spp folder (including hidden) to USB (2) I reinstalled the same enterprise version and made a TrueImage backup (to be able to repeat the activation testing procedure over and over). (3) Now suppose the KMS server's offline, I'd like to activate with my backup from (1). This is what I tried: (a) Command prompt (admin): net stop sppsvc (b) c:\windows\system32: takeown /f spp /r, icacls spp /grant Windows:F /t (c) copy over the files from the backup (tested twice: first time the complete folder, second time only "store" and "tokens" folders) (d) net start sppsvc, check activation status in config/system, reset, check watermark, etc) Still not working. If anybody could point me to the last missing thing, that'd be great!! Thanks...
hi i am running 8.1 professional. when i use the command slmgr /ato after following all instructions it says no kms could be contacted what should i do
When I try to change KMS Client Key, I get this error.. Error: 0xC004E016 running Microsoft Windows non-core version of the computer, run "slui.exe 0 x2a 0xC004E016 "to display the error text.
If you slmgr /dlv shows a Jan expire date (like you said in PM), then you have probably used a hactivation, install a real build 9600 before the Taiwan guy shuts down his toy. Then sorry couldn't think of any other cause.
