<<Off topic alert>> It just occurred to me. For sure, some scenario of this type is going to play out over the next few days: Scene: Home of some employee of the blessed server John Doe (the inadvertent benefactor of several thousand people worldwide): Rumours are abuzz that some KMS server has been leaked. Thousands of people are activating their copies of 8.1. Poor M$ James Doe (an imaginary friend): Yeahhh, I pity the poor schmuck who bungled it up. Scene at the workplace on Monday morning: One VERY angry boss, in a meeting with a particularly annoyingly calm lawyer Boss: NO! NO! NO! YOU CAN"T DO THIS! Lawyer: Oh, but we can, sir. Wait and watch. John Doe: Boss, about that raise we were talking about last- Boss: GTFO YOU *#%*&^%@# DOYOUEVENKNOWWHATTHEHELLISGOINGONHEREOMGWEARESOSCREWED Lawyer: Well, sir, I would advise you to think about what to do before we initiate legal proceedings. <<End-rant>> Sorry if I've offended anyone, I just found it funny. (Admins are totally justified if they delete this post)
its true. the subject server is either closed or down. see the screen shot of pinging: View attachment 24751
Um, when M$ find out about this, aren't they gonna drag whoever owns that server into some deep trouble? Pardon me if I'm wrong, but it seems fair to assume someone is surely getting fired over this server leak for sure.
I dunno about that, but when I tried pinging it yesterday, it refused to respond. Same today, and I tried multiple times. Yet it activated like a dream when I tried. Weird.
I don't know if things go differently for win8.1 with KMS V6, before that, MS actually doesn't give a sh*t to such things.
The previous (Office 2013 only) server didn't reply to pings either, though it did activate. Server is still up and running...
Ping is useless to find that server is up & service is working or not... Most routers & server block ping packet response....
