I'm not a noob guys, please do not treat me like one. I'm already trying this on a freshly installed Windows 8.1 on VMWare. Not a single software is installed including firewalls, antiviruses, I've also disabled and turned off all security features of Windows itself including Windows Firewall and Windows Defender.
Thanks, I appreciate the apology. I agree with you that if Ratiborus set the VM's time zone to UTC+0, he could just ship it like that and use "-rtc base=utc" option, and then noone would have to fiddle with time zone settings.
I reckon lots of improvements can be made to this KMS activator, it's just a first release, when it was with Windows 8, I remember lots of new KMS activator, with cleaner code, and size being released
People, a little update, don't know how important this is; not sure whether it makes any difference. Pardon the noobiness. I installed KMSmicro and activated Windows 8.1 Enterprise (x86). Just for the fun of it, I started up MTK 2.4.1 (leftover from the install of 8) and hit "EZ-Activator". To my surprise, it activated and it's actually activating with no internet access. I don't know whether this is something new, and I have no idea how useful this info might be. Just wanted to let it be known to you all. Cheers. EDIT: It works only for 8.1 Enterprise, I'm unable to get it to work for Office. KMSmicro works beautifully though (I uninstalled and reinstalled to deault location)
But but but- I activated with KMSmicro about three hours ago, it activated. I activated with MTK now and my license has been renewed. Care to explain how?
@MrKaon I think you played a lot with different tools for windows activation. Search registry for key KeyManagementServiceName, if its set to different host then delete it & retry.... or if KeyManagementServiceName set under Code: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform\55c92 734-d682-4d71-983e-d6ec3f16059f\458e1bec-837a-45f6-b9d5-925ed5d299de not under Code: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform then delete whole branch 55c92 734-d682-4d71-983e-d6ec3f16059f\458e1bec-837a-45f6-b9d5-925ed5d299de these numbers will be different for you...
Ok... wait for 1-2 days or advance your system date then run slmgr /xpr or slmgr /dlv to know days left, make note of that & then run MTK to renew & see if MTK renew it back to 180 days or not... you will get your answer...
Just for the sake of argument, assuming it does work as expected. Would that be of any help in furthering development of a smaller KMSmicro?
I just tested it, and it definitely does NOT activate with KMS on Windows 8.1 unless you sync time in the KMSmicro qemu VM using the "t" option
I just checked. It works! Cody, thanks to MTK I don't have to boot up a VM everytime I want to activate But honestly, I'm really grateful to Ratiborus and team. KMSmicro isn't the smallest or the most elegant, but it's a start, and since I'm hopeless at coding, I shouldn't really be criticising. So yeah, hats off to you all.
Weird. My first time I was able to activate without having to sync time. Maybe it was synced beforehand?
Thanks a million dude!!!!! This fixed my problem!!! My Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 is finally activated using KMSMicro 5.0.0 Update 2!
