Hey guys, I am using 8.1 pro in a VM. I have tsted it before and it worked fine, but I am trying to change my KMS server and it will not change it. I have tried the /ckms and it says its cleared but when I do /dlv it still says the old address. Is there something I need to do to fully clear the address or change the address? I have the cmd open as admin in case you were going to ask.
Restart your PC and check again. You can check also in registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform for KeyManagementServiceName and KeyManagementServicePort To define a new kms server use slmgr /skms.
Thank you, that worked. I had to use another program to clear the KMS as the /skms from the cmd still did not work but oh well . The thing is that the KMS IP is still showing. Is there a way to clear that as well?
If you clear using /ckms, and the IP is still there. Will it try to contact that IP thats stored there for activation again, or no cause the KMS server name is not there anymore?
