Harm your pc, doubtful. Expose your activity to third parties, that is the risk. Activating against a KMS involves the following: - send "some amount of information about your system" to the KMS server - receive back an activation token or error message Other than you not knowing what details are contained in the outgoing request, there's no real danger - unless law enforcement seizes the server, extracts your IP from its logs, and come to get you
Why all this, just run your own 5mb kms server app in an android mobile: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/kisskms-2-5-0-android-kms-server-app.72455/
Just out of curiosity, What is the likelihood of something actually happening (legally or otherwise) by using someone else 'alternative kms server' ? And what would actually happen? Jail-time? The alternative kms server blocking your HWID? ~MC
For most users, nothing(especially if you are in some developing nation with lax online piracy laws).Still why take chance when you can run your own kms server in a 5mb android app(see my above post).
It was somewhat a rhetorical question. I agree running your own is by far the best and or safest and easiest route. I was more or less curious if anyone had any form of legal or otherwise ramifications enforced on them. ~MC
